The thrill of discovery, frogs in the window well, adding sprinkles to daddy’s birthday cup cakes, and chasing neighbor kids around at dusk.
Family dinner and running in the sprinklers the joy of fishing poles and swimming holes and making beds for kittens.
That is where it begins,
Seeing God’s creation and the passing of a day
With surprises unexpected in every little way
With dark in the sky’s , and sleep in her eyes
Prayers that her wonder never ever dies
Another memory crafted and stored away for now
To show its face once more in many years somehow
Oh that I remember the wonder of being small
That when I’m grown and older my mind will share it all
The magic of this lifetime that goes by at light speed now
In those final days will slow and take a bow
Bravo! Good Job faithful child of mine
Come home now to your heavenly father, its almost time to dine.
